I don't think it is a "FORD" thing. Labor prices have gotten to every facet of our lives, and so have energy costs. I don't blame Ford for any of this, rather blame the money-sucking pols.
I wonder... What if Ford brought out a revised version o the Focus RS? Not with the old 2.3L Eco-Boost, but a new one like the 2024 Mustang!
Few folks realize, with a bit of finagling, 400+ is within reach. Oh nuts! We won't see that, because Ford wants their Mustang to be in the number one...
Well, the Roush is red in color, and we all know red is a symbol of hot, hence better? But I must say, I'm an Eco-Boost fan and its color is rust brown and aluminum. Enough said!
I want to comment further on the mirrors. Personally, I find them a bit lacking. Certainly my Ranger's mirrors are larger (there's even enough room to use small convex mirrors dots). However, considering the Mustang is somewhat harder to see out of than most coupes (glad I don't own a Camaro!)...
I'm a spoil sport! Yes, rowing your own, non lift shifting, popping clutches, are all fun and games! So is the extra wear and tear on all of the included parts. We should, however, be asking ourselves questions like...
Why are the automatics faster in almost every respect? Why are the 10R80 and...
There is a YouTube video about the supposed power gains derived from removing an emissions requirement (carbon filters) and/or drilling out the grill air opening. The net result is, within the inaccuracies (fuzz) generated during any dyno pull. That is to say, no two pulls will be the same...
Personal observation:
Far too many around these parts (SE New Mexico) run in Drag or Track mode 24/7! Doing so isn't neighborhood friendly. The local constabulary will ticket those knuckleheads, but you have to complain several times. It appears, after all, their manliness is a bit short!
Without using names... I just ordered factory mud flaps for the rear (no fronts available) from the only dealer who had them (supposedly) in stock. The freight was $35+ when the true shipping costs are certainly under $10 (USPS). So my take is, the charge is nothing but extra profit, just like...
Opinion. You might see a hybrid for the Eco-Boost (wouldn't make sense to install a 2.5 w/o boost), and maybe for the GT if the tree-huggers have their way. There is one thing you'll never see, and that's a hybrid GTD!
This brings up a similar issue—how to get vinyl scum off interior glass? The answer is clear (no pun intended). That is, ®Everclear. This is 190 proof (95%) ethanol with a fifth costing about $25 at most liquor sellers. What you do not want to use is methanol, as it is corrosive and can stain...
I use a Rexing V1P which is 4K front and HD rear. As a recipient of a recent accident, the lower resolution rear was adequate to prove the driver that hit me was speeding, besides crossing a double yellow.
I've been using a dash cam since the F1000 (1080P) became available in 2007. Anyone who...
You won't find any two door with an electric back rest for reasons already stated. At least, you can turn off the 'Check Backseat' warning! Quirky, but required by law!
Looking back...
Many years ago, Ford had a lot of interior design quirks, like the key on one side of the steering wheel, and...
One of the reasons catch cans are used, is to lesson the build up of deposits on the back side of the valves (direct injected engines). All of the S650 engines now use both direct and port injections. This keeps the valves clean and allows for better emissions. Yes a catch can will trap both...
Admittedly, I've only put about 300 miles on my 2024 Eco-Boost, which limits my experience. Save for one perhaps two roads within city limits, I can't get over 45 (about 2 seconds) without exceeding the limit. Everything else within 250+ is limited to 70 MPH (about 6 seconds). So other than a...
