Yeah, I think I was just not reading thier article right, though, after reviewing it again, it could have be more clear.
My biggest question of this thread is fitment, really. Got good replies on that one. I did find out that the OE system is likely 409 Stainless Steel, which is lighter than...
LMR...Late Model Restoration. They posted an article saying, actually, 72lbs reduction, though they did not a range of weight reduction due to brands, but all reference to a full cat-back system replacement. I find 72 a bit high, but factory stuff is heavy.
After learning that a cat-back system can remove about 70lbs of weight (says LMR, but others say only 30lbs), and tune the exhaust note of this glorious V8, I have been wondering what guys think the best brand is? Borla? Magnaflow? Corsa? Others?
I want two things, in addition to dropping...
So, for clarity, I am seeing that the Mustang GT engine may or may not have the cylinder deactivation (sources vary), and it is a working system in that Gen IV Coyote for at least F150s. I am seeing sources saying the DH does not, but not in a lot of places.
My big question is, while the...
Yeah, thanks Cipis, it did suck. Even though it was an easy fix, and I am a pretty advanced DIY owner, I just was too worried about a serious issue occurring that I could not fix...say, that 10 speed it had. They were having issues back then. Seems sorted out now though. My second brand is...
I had a 2018 GT...2 dealers could not fix a broken front strut damper. Two dealers, six days, nothing. I did it myself in my driveway in three hours. The damper shaft was rattling in the damper assembly of the front strut; I was livid. I wrote Ford Corporate letters. They replied. It was...
Do we think with the impending availability of the DH SC, standard DHs will be more flexible in price? Hell, I don't even know what they're going for now, but I had seen some guys say not at MSRP for a standard DH. I am hoping to get a DH w HP at 5-7% below MSRP.
I am not too mindful of the tech in a car...I do love all the sensors and gauges available (driveline temps in particular). My biggest worries are recalls and dealerships. I just feel I am not willing to cope with dropping $75K on a car, and they are not able to fix things.; this has been my...
I hear you, and I think you can compare the transmissions from the Raptor to Mustang. I had a 2018 Mustang GT with the auto, and I have been following this transmission over the years since I love the 10 speeds and the performance and efficiency it brings. The Achilles heel from this trans has...
Thanks for the add. I don't own an S650 yet, but am perusing this site to learn more. I am a long-time Mustang and have had many, including the one below which I currently have. Last one was a 2018 GT PP with the auto....really liked it, but was a bad ownership experience. Anyway, learning...
Certainly is gorgeous. Performance numbers off the charts...along with the price. Will be interesting to see how this sells, and how it'll affect NA DH pricing.
Great feedback. Over the years, I have become tolerant of vibration and noises, but I do have my limits. I have had real issues with Fords, and have had many, so I get a little anxious about get another Ford...but mainly due to the dealers; they are just awful. I like, and want a fairly raw...
yeah, the BMW is complicated and not nearly as nice to look at as a Mustang, but as far as weight, the DH is about 200lbs more. I'd get the Carbon Pkg on the M2 to help limit that weight. But, I am not tracking, so weight is less of a concern for me. Both the M2 and DH all get great reviews...
Nice insights...thank you. Yes, I am looking for character....that intangible that makes a car more lovable or not. I remain undecided on transmission too, but that'll have to be decided later. Thanks again.
Good feedback, thanks. I did an instructor clinic at VIR with my Honda Accord sedan. It was awesome and that is perhaps my favorite track...though I want to goto COTA some day!
I am good with the harsh ride, and the performance is wasted on the street, for sure. I will definitely get the...
Thanks...for me, the M240i, while a great car, is just not special enough for me. I mean, I know no one needs M2 or DH performance on the street, and an M240 is well enough. Hell, I had a 230 and it was well enough, and handled so, so well. However, I want a special ownership experience too...
Thanks Smurf! What's your home track now? Yeah, would keep it totally stock. Understood on the tires. I'd change out 300 compound PS4 or 5 later, so not worried about the short-lived tires. I just want a capable, and special sports car that is still street legal...my track car is not. I...
Just joined today...thanks for the addition. I am a long time Mustang guy, but had such a bad dealer experience with my 2018 GT, I walked away from Ford and enjoyed some BMW action...which is good no matter the reason, IMO. I still have my 2008 GT track car.
I have been looking for a fun...
