Please be a bit more descriptive. How did you activate the actuators? The only way I have seen is through an aftermarket tuning device that can manipulate the PCM. Simply hooking them up doesn't work, FORScan in itself doesn't work. Can you elaborate on what you did to make it work? Steps...
You did this using FORScan only? Everything I've seen, read, and adjusted, tells me that the only way to activate the actuators is through an actual tune in the PCM using HPTuners, etc.
Ive compared almost everything between my buddy and I's car. We have the same everything except he had...
The ring has class rules for a reason. The comparing of racecars to production cars is just asinine (no one here, just online BS across all forums). I say we just appreciaciate the insance tech, engineering, and drive it takes to set any kind of record anymore! The GTD, ZR1, ZR1x, GT MkIV, etc...
Gave it a bath over the weekend.
Also added the VMP Matte Carbon Strut Tower Bar. Had to remove the hood liner and now I need to figure out how best to cover up the washer squirter tubes.
The short answer is, no. That isn't the right way to go about it.
The Mustang has 3 different lighting "zones" for ambient lighting. The door sills zone 3 and will shut off when the door is closed. The footwells are zone 1 and are on when the light sensor on the dash triggers them. So if you...
These really do look good! I love that the boxes are also CF, something I wish the Whipple Comp boxes were as well. Plus...I really like the green filters! Great write up!
Wasn't necessarily done just today, but more like over the past 3 weeks. Full Steeda Stop the Hop Ultimate Handling kit, Steeda rear camber arms, BMR camber lockouts, dual to quad rear bumper facia, Borla Type S catback with Borla Switchfire, Ford Performance knuckle to toe bearing, and Ford...

That's...unfortunate. I'll hold out for a while. I could probably build a DH setup if needed, but it would definitely cost the same as the Steeda one. Did you end up documenting your setup?
Why yes, yes I do. I guess being an engineer has its perks! Like I said, not trying to be an ass, but backing up useful information with useful knowledge and deductive reasoning, instead of "I think", helps others out in making informed decisions.
Everything I've seen has shown that the 6G and 7G are different. And since the PCM was unlocked a few months ago for the 7G, I'm hoping someone with HP Tuners can access the PCM parameters and enable the Active Exhaust. But I want to be sure they can before I buy the HP Tuners.
FORScan can be used to change the IPC, APIM, and ACM modules to enable controllability.
The BCM and PCM modules are the ones that need to be changed...I think. I can access the BCM with FORScan, but the PCM is a tuner-only thing, I believe.
If your hood is flexing that much with respect to the frame of the car, you definitely have bigger issues than a bit of hot air being sucked in through your air filters.
I would also assume that the insulation on the bottom of your hood will be cooler to the touch (and measured) than a hot...
Is any tuner able to "activate" the Active Exhaust feature on a non-AE? I believe this needs to be done in the PCM tuning section. I can use FORScan to change the IPC, APIM, and ACM modules to enable controllability on the screens, but the actual valve control still needs to be done.

I can't speak for these AWE boxes, but the open-air box sealing on the hood isn't any different than the competition air boxes that people are installing on their Whipples. A seal against the hood liner isn't any different, and may in fact be better, than a heat-soaked plastic lid. The hood...
