That’s really interesting. I had no idea! Their website doesn’t mention weight reduction apart from the wheels. Do you have an idea the approximate curb weight? How’s the weight balance?
Dang. The tremec was probably 50% of the reason I bought the DH. It was either that, used Mach 1, or GT350. I had a 2017 with the MT-82 and that trans was a dog.
That’s very interesting. At Charlotte, the oval is a huge left hander. I was probably running that between 100-130 mph for a long stretch of it coming into the S lap after lap and had no issues when I was at the FP racing school. But to be fair they kept them super full on gas the whole time...
Beautiful car, awesome wheels. That’s insanely light, I think my forged aluminum 19’s are 21 and 23 lbs.
Do they modify a GT? Does it have the 10R80, Tremec, or the MT-82?
Not as far as I could tell no. Turn 17/17a is a pretty long right hander and I had zero issues there whatsoever. I also never let my tank really get lower than 1/4.
RBF600 is a great fluid. Very cheap for how good it is. I always used it in my Miata. I get the impression the DH brakes get way hotter though. I was split between RBF660 and 700, but 660 was a lot less expensive and held up great even cranking out ten laps in a row.
I took the dark horse to Sebring this weekend and had a blast. Tried a new line through turn 1 that was probably a huge mistake. Have a lot of work to do on carousel and turn 17 too, but I’m still proud of it!
I really deeply hope this pans out to be true. I love my Dark Horse and tracking it brings me so many more smiles than my old Miata did. With that said she's a heavy, heavy horse, and understeers big time. I dream about what this car would be like with 500 less pounds in it.
I think if one were to buy a new dark horse and have the dealer installed ford performance supercharger, you'd pretty much have what you're talking about,
Title says it all.

Yeah it’s not cheap! I’m considering the third day as well, but I try to track the car every chance I get and want to be better at it. Compared to $225 for a track night with SCCA it’s a lot, but it’s a very different experience.
