The modern 5.0 needs a lot of oil. The variable timing and all that runs on oil pressure. Also there is quite a bit of oil running through the oil cooler which I don't think the 80s-90s 5.0s had.
The weak point in the MT-82 is the clutch. The transmission itself is rated for more torque than the 3160.
Comparatively do I want to row the gears in the quirky MT-82 for an entire track day over a Tremec? No. Would I rather have the MT-82 over the 3160 for the drag strip? Absolutely. 6060 in...
Without Nite Pony and some other options I built on the website a 2025 GT PP Magneride Active Exhaust Premium for 62xxx. Almost 9k difference from the base DH. If I'm throwing 9k into mods then I am buying a base GT Premium at 51xxx and then I would have almost 20k difference for a lot of mods...
The 3160 is a great tranny but it is pretty light duty. The 6060 can handle more power and that is why the 6060 came in the 14 GT500.
People have put some big power in front of the MT-82 and not had an issue.
Suspension tuning "should" be different on the base DH vs GT PP. I am assuming the difference is similar to the 2021 GT PP and the base Mach 1. The suspension differences will be subtle but noticeable.
Like I said earlier I wouldn't take an EV to a track day but compared to the previous model that could barely do a lap it is impressive. I'm surprised they could drift that car to be completely honest.
Still rather have the M2 or DH in this case though lol.
The biggest downside of an EV to me is lack of charging stations where I live and how long a charge takes.
I wouldn't drive one for a track day but if charging wasn't such a pain in the ass I'd consider one as a daily.
LOL that does sound awful. I don't like the 130 decible raspy sound either. I dont like how X pipes sound on the 5.0 in general. And I agree with you the 4.6 might be one of the best sounding exhaust notes of all time.
Generally speaking though stock for stock the 5.0 performance exhaust...
I agree Ford priced themselves into this position and honestly with the Camaro, Chally/Charger siblings gone the M2 is really the closest competitor the S650 has.
If the S650 was entirely new and not heavily based on the S550 and it had a bit more refinement and more than a marginal...
Every car forum has people who join forums just to bash the cars and opinions of others. You can ignore them but without comparison to other cars these forums would get boring fast.
Now if you are in a thread talking about supercharging/turbocharging an S650 and someone is just bashing...
A lot of the posts in this thread specifically are simply stating the fact that the DH is now priced with higher performing cars. Non subjective things aside like looks and driving engagement the C8s and BMWs outperform the S650 in a similar price range.
I have Mustangs and a C8. Am I allowed to post here? Lol. Sarcasm aside, if this forum was only for S650 owners who also do not own any other car it would be a boring echo chamber.
I do like the C8 that is why it is in my profile pick in my garage. I also own Mustangs. You seem to be taking personal offense to me stating the fact that 2025 DH is in the price range of C8.
Ford chose to price the DH in range of C8s, M3/4, and by comparison made the M2 look like a bargain lol. Without those price increases we wouldn't be having this conversation.
First time I have seen someone mention the size of the S650 as a positive. Ford priced the DH in the range of M2-M3-M4 and C8. Of course people will compare them now.
