Update - grabbed one of these - solid, easy to fit and remove and well reviewed.
A good old school deterrent
Will think about remote immobiliser later but for now this will do
That’s interesting - mines been trouble free without exception. I wonder what’s changed?
Just thinking out loud maybe there’s been some component changes that have upset the system balance? Foot for thought if thinking about mods. This thing is way more complex than the last gen.
I’ve had my GT for a couple of months and as expected all clear on the recall. For those impacted I wouldn’t be concerned, it will just be a firmware update as part of delivery
I cannot see how this will delay delivery - it’s software FFS
Thank you XRS
Yes I’m familiar with Ford Pass. I know it provides GPS tracking that you and Police etc can use. I’ve doubled down with another hidden GPS tracker from my last car (Solid GPS)
Ford Pass though is passive in that it provides no ability for immediate action
I’d like to be able...
Apologies if I’m doubling up with another thread
Keen to get any thoughts the forum has about anti-theft solutions
I understand that there are solutions out there that provide the following features, but not necessarily all in one
- remote engine immobilise from smart phone
- OBD port kill...
.....and just got an email from the EPA confirming receipt of the CoC and that it has been processed for the Testing Notice issued, and no further action is required.
Hallelujah!
Further to my post above, this is the test method that the EPA Vic refers to
Stationary test method The stationary test method is set out in the National Stationary Exhaust Noise Test Procedures for InService Motor Vehicles, which is amended from time to time, and is published by the National...
Testing is pretty basic
They had me open the hood.
One guy leans into the car from a squatted position and starts the car, and then revs the engine using his hand.
The other guy is behind the vehicle with the db Meter. I didn't look at the distance closely but I'd say about a meter. (edit: I...
Had the exhaust tested and no surprise it was compliant. Testing cost me $120. If this happens again I will fight it, having demonstrated my willingness to get it tested despite knowing it would be compliant.
Still pissed off at the time and money wasted on this, but time to leave it behind me...
Correction: I'm unsure whether they are fitted when they come off the boat.
My front bumper is drilled with two small holes. I suspect the dealer did that. They stuffed up putting the wrong plates on the car, so suspect they may have drilled which pissed me off.
I use a Craig's bracket
Just received the following after I submitted my appeal
“Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) has received your internal review application. Your infringement will be on hold while your application is being reviewed.
EPA must determine internal review applications within 90 days...
Might feel good at the time, but there's possible consequences.
"If EPA does not receive a CoC from you by the due date of this notice, you may be guilty of an offence and legal action may be taken against you
If you do not submit a CoC to EPA, it will be an offence to do the following;
Sell...
For what it's worth I just lodged an appeal online to withdraw the notice.
I said it's a unmodified vehicle less than two months old with just over 1000 km's on the clock and is in showroom condition.
I've got my booking in place with the tester and will have that done if my appeal is rejected...
I just called the EPA
The report is valid for 3 months and if it is reported again in that time the report will be dismissed. If it occurs after the 3 months another notice will be issued. From there I learned that there is a dispute process where you can submit reasons for it to be dismissed...
Nope no evidence.
Being City of Melbourne it’s full of Greens. Fair chance I’ve upset one.
I have no choice but to get the test done. I’ll be interested to know if it happens again am I obliged to test again?
7 years with my S550 with Borla S-Type Axle Back and never had a problem. I suspect...
I received a letter in the mail from the EPA advising that my vehicle was observed in Collins Street Melbourne by an authorised officer, who considered the vehicle to be excessively noisy.
I typically drive it in Sport mode, and the car is stock. So I've had to book it in for testing in a...
