Am I being unreasonable with my dealership over a cover issue?

No you are not being unreasonable. I think you should stop using the dealership and also take the time to post some online reviews. There's no excuse at all for their terrible performance in this matter.

Am I too picky? ….so many flaws on new $70k cars!

I like to drive my cars too, but there's definitely nothing wrong with those that want to preserve them more. I do agree no new cars are show car quality, but the dealer should encourage the buyer to try to find flaws and volunteer to fix them without being asked during a new car purchase...

Am I too picky? ….so many flaws on new $70k cars!

Every BMW I've ever looked at had really bad orange peel. But the worst flaws are in the engine compartment. I think if you keep after it you will find a car in good condition. I have the impression that it's really costly for Ford to make a V8 car, even though it has the tiny 5.0 liter...

    Stiff shifting with Tremec trans

If you are used to the MT82, the Tremec is a little stiffer and functions better with a somewhat more deliberate shifting style (ie shifts are a little slower in order to be smooth). The Tremec is also somewhat more cold blooded. It will get better over time. At least it did in my GT350. But...

DARK HORSE ORDER | FAIL NEWS LETTER FROM FORD

It does suck, but in Michigan where they make the cars it will be too cold and most summer tires would end up being damaged. They will produce your car as soon as possible I'm sure. Ford wants to sell cars. :) I agree it would be nice to have an independent tire option (separate from the...

Car & Driver - 2024 Ford Mustang Ecoboost

Corvettes had fuel injection in the 60s, but that was port injection - not direct injection. Why would I want a carb? They are overly complicated and a PITA to constantly adjust and clean. Port fuel injection is the sweet spot for engine technology that is perfectly functional without any...

Car & Driver - 2024 Ford Mustang Ecoboost

You make a lot of good points. To be clear about my position, I don't want double the injectors in my engine. I think it's a waste of money. It makes the engine more difficult to work on and there are more parts to break. I also hate the PWTA cylinder liners in the newer Ford V8s. Throw...

Car & Driver - 2024 Ford Mustang Ecoboost

I would prefer to see the engine run a little richer to control knock instead of using DI, which produces particulates. Or just "right size" the engine instead of over boosting it. That's why I own a 2017 Mustang rather than something newer. No DI in that engine. Easier and cheaper to fix...

Car & Driver - 2024 Ford Mustang Ecoboost

My biggest issue with them is the direct injection systems, overall complexity and the cost to manufacture. Yes, they save a small amount of gasoline energy, but manufacturing and then replacing engines in a short amount of time takes waaaay more energy than just using a simpler V8 engine that...

Official: 2025 Mustang GTD Revealed! 800+ HP 5.2L V8, Pushrod Suspension, $300K MSRP

It would be so awesome if they would make a "normal guy" version with no carbon, smaller or no wing and a Coyote powerplant with a manual transaxle. Even though I realize it would still be really expensive, I would seriously consider buying. I think they could sell volumes of something like that.

    2024 S650 Saleen 302 White Label Debuts November 16th

I like the exterior appearance mods. To me the car looks cleaner and better integrated than the stock effort. Some of the S650s are very busy design wise.

    Dealers near me already discounting

The cost of carrying inventory is extremely high right now due to high interest rates. Typically dealers don't buy the cars or own them. They are essentially paying for a loan on the car while it sits on the lot. So there is a lot of motivation to move cars fairly quickly. Plus, it's hard to...

New 2024 Mustang FP800S Ford Performance Street Packages Add Power, Suspension and Aero

Huh, I love the wheels. I think they look great. But I can completely see wanting to purchase a partial and not the entire package. I agree hopefully they will sell the major parts separately. Is this a lead-in to a EB vs. V8 partial throttle racing post?

    S650 1K mile/ 1-month owner review from an S197

I bought my 2018 Fiesta ST for more than $4,000 under MSRP. It had less than 500 miles on it and it was "used", but it had only been owned by dealerships. Good car, but most people in the US don't like small, sporty cars. That's an example of what can happen. If people don't buy a car at...

    S650 1K mile/ 1-month owner review from an S197

People who are buying new cars faster than the manufacturers make them are what drive ADMs. If nobody bought the new cars, ADMs would go away and dealers would sell for under MSRP.

Throttle House: Dark Horse Mustang vs 392 Challenger vs Camaro ( Drag Race , Roll Race & Track Times )

It would be interesting, but if the new PP1 is anything like the previous versions, the suspension is so soft that I doubt the car would work that well on track anyway. Wow, that was a very detailed and well thought-out response. Thank you for taking so much time. I do appreciate that you...

Throttle House: Dark Horse Mustang vs 392 Challenger vs Camaro ( Drag Race , Roll Race & Track Times )

I was surprised that it was faster than the ZL1 1LE, plus it seemed like the DH wasn't incredibly stiff and uncomfortable like the ZLE. And I didn't hear a million rocks and pebbles thrown by the tires pinging off the wheel wells of the DH like you do in ZLE videos. I'm not sure whether the...

Is MotorTrend right about the new S650?

That review irritated me so much I couldn't watch the entire thing. I think the S650 looks good. Definitely an improvement over the 2018+ GT styling. I used to like Lieberman, but everything I've seen him in for the last couple years has been terrible. I really like the new Mustang colors...
