The ppe is pretty great for the price, when it comes to someone leaving the gt in the realm of stock horsepower. Regarding the whipple breaking things, yeah thats going to happen every time you add 300 additional horsepower to something.
The oil cooler makes a huge difference. I drove the crap out of my dark horse the other day when it was 118 outside “AZ” highest my temp got was 219.
Dont need an after market system, get the same tiny gains from ditching the carbon traps and upgrading the filter, I went with Think Auto filters- increased airflow with oem filtering capabilities if not better.
Honestly my dark horse is one of the few cars I have owned that handle the heat pretty damn good. Im in az so it was 118 the other day all my temps were beautiful, aside from intake air temp obviously. I didn't feel like the car was down on power at all, felt normal.
Thats how it always is though lol. You can build a baja truck that will perform head to head with a raptor for a hell of alot less than a raptor. But some people just like a turn key product with all the work done already.
Fair, I spoke with the guy who built this one a while back, he would have loved to throw more parts on the car. But the owner of the dealership didn’t want to let them supercharge a gt to begin with lol so the budget wasn't very high. They do more slightly modded f150’s over at this dealer.
How so? The price of the parts is like 18.2k plus tax. 10k whipple, 2k apr wing, 400 apr radiator cover, 600rtr grill, 3k forged wheels 1600 tires, 100 bucks side louvers, 200 bucks tpms sensors, $300 for the lowering springs. After tax =$19,565 for parts. Lets say the whipple install is about...
Get the oil temps to 180+ before you really start getting on it. I would let it cool down a bit if your oil temps get up around 245-250. As far as I know up to 260 is within spec, but thats pretty high considering they have such a good oil cooler setup.
The biggest disappointment about it is that they didn't even use a Gt PP for this project. Especially considering its gets 120+ out here all summer. So this car is making 810 crank hp but it has the base radiator, no oil or trans cooler. Other than the springs they put on it, it doesnt have any...
Lol thats my local dealership, its honestly not a bad price for the car they used some good parts, all it will need is a set of catch cans. Its been for sale for about 5-6 months so they will probably accept 75-76k for it, which would be a screamin deal.
Its all good in the end they made it right. Its funny I had this romanticized idea of the whole his and hers mustangs but it was more like 1 mustang was the good twin and 1 was the psycho evil twin.
